Victim 2 Victor is currently the only support group in North Carolina for those affected by burn injury trauma. Its sole purpose is the education of those persons who have been affected by burn injury trauma.

This group is for any of the following:
• burn victim
• spouse of burn victim
• relative of a burn victim
• friend(s) of burn victim
• caregivers (including physicians, nurses, counselors, social workers, therapists)
• rescue personnel, firemen
• teachers, classmates or others who have been traumatized by a burn event

We chose the name Victim2Victor for a very specific reason. In the "burn world" we are usually referred to either as victim or survior. I believe there is a third level of recovery, victor. We are normally referred to as victim while in the hospital fighting for life. Upon release we are then referred to as survivor. That term conjures up the thought of someone clinging to a log while floating in icy waters similar to what you see in the movie "Titanic". We MUST move beyond that to a status of victor. The number 2 represents community. We cannot make this transition alone and that is why this support group exists. We must be there for each other.
